How it started
Mel and James founded Social Firefly in 2018 after working in digital communications at Sussex Police. Not your typical agency story, but that’s exactly the point.
When a single post can shift public perception, you learn fast. You learn that words carry weight, that trust is hard-won and easily lost, and that every decision to act has a psychology behind it. That environment sharpened something most social media agencies don’t have: instincts built under real pressure.
They left with a simple conviction. That the best social media starts with people, not platforms. That human attention is finite and hard-won. That trust takes time and relationships need nurturing. That approach resonated. Social Firefly grew into a trusted partner for organisations across Brighton, London, the UK and internationally. And the conviction that started it all? It still drives everything we do.
